We recently went to the Fenton River grill and found it to be delightful. We ordered the chicken thigh app with half Buffalo half Italian garlic and they were very good. We ordered Tuscan chicken, chicken tortellini and a hamburger. All were very good. The wait staff was beyond excellent. Perfect timing on drinks apps and meal. We sat outside and enjoyed it very much. Recommend Fenton River Grill!
This place, named after the local stream of my youthful watering holes, is still glorious. The beer selection, which you can monitor on Digital Pour the app, has some tasty selections. My wife enjoyed one of my personal favorites, Back East's Ice Cream Man. I savoured the foggy/hazy Abomination Ale's Wandering Into the Fog. Our server was very courteous and checked in; we nodded our approval of all the meals. My wife had the Salmon Burger, which she pronounced "very good." Son, the magician, made his Fenton Burger and Fries disappear (up his sleeve?) and my Pastrami Reuben was delicious. A lovely meal, made extra special by a son turning 32! Time flies, but time here was well spent!
Ordered the chicken parmigiana with angel hair and extra marinara sauce ($28) the portions of chicken (a thick breast fillet) and pasta (pre-mixed with sauce with more on top) were very generous. (I could not finish the pasta.) All very tasty. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful. It was very busy on a Saturday night and quite loud. A full bar is separate from the restaurant.
I know...five stars across the board? Really? Yes, really. I couldn't find a thing wrong. First, the staff is friendly and helpful, and that's an understatement. My server, Emma, went above and beyond, in my opinion. She not only gave me recommendations when I asked, but explained why. She made sure to check on us regularly, making me feel cared about not pestered. I watched other servers doing the same with their customers. I had the salmon; my brother had the fish & chips. Both dishes were prepared carefully and plated appetizingly. Everything was spotlessly clean. Even the water tasted fresh! Okay, you're insisting I complain about something; fine: parking isn't that great. But this is Christmas week and everything is super busy. This is not their fault, and does not cost them stars. I will definitely be back soon.
I went on a slow Wednesday evening, alone. Service was great and friendly. Ordered a steak, it was perfectly cooked, not over salted, and way larger than the advertised 12 oz. I got the creme brulee for desert. It was one of the best I've had in years and we get them quite often. It was smooth, silky, not overcooked. Overall, 10/10 for this little place. Very surprised. They have a great menu with GF and vegetarian options as well. Support you local restaurants.
Really enjoyed our meal at The Fenton River Grill during our recent trip to Ct. There's not a ton of options in the immediate area, this one is a gem. They have a large enough menu to feed even the pickiest eaters. My husband enjoyed their on-tap beers, pretty large selection. I had a Manhattan which was pretty good, def strong. We shared a quesadilla, it was good, a little greasy, not the highlight of our meal. I ordered one of the specials, the pork dumpling soup in pho broth, it was really good. Not going to lie I was a little concerned about ordering something different like that but it was flavorful and filling, really done well. My husband had a chicken ceasar salad and was very happy with how it all came out. The place was packed on a Friday night so maybe make reservations.
My husband & I went to have dinner. It had been awhile since our last visit and yet again, DID NOT DISAPPOINT. They have fun & yummy cocktail specials. Our appetizers were sooo good (buffalo cauliflower & tuna app). We enjoyed braised short ribs for dinner AMAZING! We had a great evening, THANK YOU. We will be returning again soon!
Last night we couldn't decide where to go for dinner. We decided on Fenton River Grill and glad we did. Easy to reserve a table online, was seated immediately. The oysters and pork cheek started our dinner. I had the steak tip special that was so amazing. Special shout out to our server Tina. She was awesome. Tina made sure we had everything we needed. Overall highly recommend this place and we will be back.
We went here on a whim, looking for small plates and discovered this spot on Google with good reviews. Service is polite and food is amazing. Never had pork cheeks before, was not disappointed.
